Vraa Højskole is a lovely little oasis in a small village in northern Denmark. A school where adults go to learn fun stuff they like alongside likeminded folks. As a brand new thing, the school now provides a course in how to garden. Well. A bit more advanced than that. Something about permaculture, what to grow when/how/where and why fungi's the bee's knees. Anywho; Asbjørn, the teacher and dude who's come up with the idea for the course, reached out to me asking if I had any ideas for promoting it. And not only that, but trying to aim it specifically at a male audience while maintaining the ideals and DNA of Vraa Højskole (doing things at your own pace, being comfortable with yourself and the people around you, taking the time to enjoy moments, appreciating nature, etc.).

The idea was to create a two-sided appeal; 1) something with powertools (preferably a chainsaw) and some workwear. Maybe climbing a tree, or in some other way getting a bit dirty. Fun times that I think all dudes and dudettes can relate to. And 2) adding a soothing voiceover in tandem with atmospheric muzak to imply a feeling of a stress-free moment of cutting stuff with a chainsaw. A fun contradictory little vibe. At least that's what I think. The project was swiftly put together, and resulted in three short format videos, all with Asbjørn doing stuff while my good buddy, Jonas, talks about why Asbjørn is having fun.
